I've been invited to a test, how do I take part?
You've been invited to a test but are unsure what to do next. Don't worry; we'll help with this. We've designed our apps to be as straightforward as possible, but if you're stuck, see below for a step-by-step guide on taking part in a test.
To start the test, tap 'Get Started' in the invitation email.
Next, you'll need to Create or Log in to your Testify account, then read and agree to the Non-disclosure Agreement.
Now we have the "Let's Get Ready" section. Please follow the prompts, read and ensure you understand how to prepare for the test. Pay attention to the video on how to give good feedback and agree to the Playtest Rules.
Next, follow the instructions on how to download our App.
If necessary, give your phone permission to download the app; you can slide down from the top of your screen to see your download in your taskbar and click on it to install!
I've got the App; what do I do now that I've opened it?
When you open the app, you should be prompted to login into your Testify account again and watch a quick onboarding video; follow the tips here to give great feedback!
You'll need to set up some permissions; follow the prompts and click each round icon on the left. Each item has a short description underneath to help!
At this point, you may be asked to download the game through the Play store. If not, it will be included with the App. (If this is the case, please be aware that this game is an unreleased version and is not on the Google Play store.)
You are now ready to start playing! Click "Continue", follow any final instructions, and then click Start Recording to get going!
During the Test - Tips and Tasks
First, tap the Testify overlay to check how long you have been recording.
You can check the time elapsed and read any Special Instructions and Tasks if applicable for your test.
If your test has Tasks, please click view on, and read the first task.
Once completed, click the green check to Finish the task.
Feel free to pause your recording at any stage. To do this, tap the Testify Overlay and tap pause; your screen will not be recorded until you click resume.
When you wish to resume your session, tap "Resume Session" and complete the rest.
Ending your session
Once you have played for the required time, tap 'Finish Session' from the above resume screen or at the bottom of the overlay.
Please rate your experience on a scale of 1-5 to give the Studio (our customer) an overall rating of how you found using their product. There's no wrong answer here, so please be honest!
Complete all questions in any follow-up survey, the length of which varies from test to test
Once complete, your screen will say, "We Have Your Test Session!"
If the Test is a single session, you have now finished the test! If it is a multi-session test, you can follow the process to submit another session when you're ready. Please note that sometimes the next session cannot be completed until the following day. We recommend leaving at least 24 hours between sessions in this case!
When beginning a session;
Follow the on-screen instructions, filling in your name and email address.
Watch the instructional video.
Take time to ensure all requested settings are enabled;
Enable Menu - This allows guidance through the session - In the menu that appears, usually you would select “Contribute” or the Game Name and toggle the “Allow display over other apps” option. Then tap back until you are back in our menu.
Connect Headphones - Allows clear recording of your voice for feedback purposes. Please ensure that the headphones have a built-in microphone.
Allow Screen Capture - This allows the screen to be recorded for feedback; note that we don’t access your camera here.
Check App Permissions - This allows the app to access any Bluetooth devices you want to use.
Click Continue and follow the subsequent prompts/instructions to start the recording.
When Finishing a session;
Click on the little “Show” button in pink on your screen, which will give instructions and options at the bottom.
Click on the “Finish Session” button.
(Please note that it is important to complete the following steps to ensure we receive your feedback successfully)
Click to rate your experience on the star rating page
Fill in any Survey you may be required to complete as part of your playtest.
You should then see a “We have your session” message. This means the session is complete!
Occasionally you may encounter issues with the session; for example, it may say there has been some connection issue, or you may encounter an error that forces the app to quit.
To solve these would advise the following;
Force-close the app (If still open), then re-open it and try to resume.
If this is unsuccessful, please restart your device and reopen the app.
