Occasionally when we're recruiting an audience for customers, we'll assess the difficulty of sourcing those participants to ensure confidence in test delivery and provide achievable expectations. We do this by performing a Recruitment Investigation.

What is a Recruitment Investigation?

The main objectives of any Recruitment Investigation are to;

  • Evaluate what audience profile is achievable within a set budget.

  • Assess the tailored recruitment cost per player for your audience.

  • Provide accurate turnaround times to determine how fast we can launch a test when recruiting your tailored audience.

Why do We perform Recruitment Investigations?

We provide this service for several reasons, including but not limited to;

  • You may need someone who has not played a specific title. However, that title may be extremely well known and finding a non-player could prove challenging.

  • Recruiting for specific demographics can occasionally be challenging, with certain audience segments leaning toward specific games.

    • For example, the core market for a game like Candy Crush is Women aged 35 and over; finding players outside of this range (while not impossible) is much more difficult than a standard recruit within the core demographic.

What does a Recruitment Investigation involve?

Sounds great, right? But you might wonder exactly what it involves! Well, when performing an investigation, we will;

  • Prepare a tailored screener concerning your request.

  • Develop a recruitment strategy to acquire your audience.

  • Perform a three working day user acquisition activity across online channels.

  • Evaluate our community pool.

We then supply you with a final findings report, which will provide us both with accurate estimates that can be used to decide the next steps for your project!

High-Level Overview

FAQs - Most commonly asked questions around Recruitment investigations

Why would this be needed?

We aim to provide you with the audience you need, and through experience, tailored audiences can be harder to obtain. As a result, we perform this to ensure you have viable options to proceed with the test.

What will we be provided with when complete?

An overview of the difficulty of recruiting your ideal demographics, if there will be any change to milestones or budget, and options to enable the recruitment at pace.

How long will it take to complete?

Recruitment investigations can take three working days to complete. Multiple factors can impact this, including;

  • If multiple cohort profiles are required

  • If Call Vetting is required

  • Existing player base (If Applicable)

  • Country of residency

  • Minimum Hardware Specification

How do you acquire players as part of the investigation?

This depends on your initial request. However, we acquire players like any traditional user acquisition campaign across channels such as, but not limited to, Our Community, Facebook, Twitter, Relevant Forums, & Google.

Will every screened player take part in the test?

No. The investigation is to identify how long it will take and how much it will cost per player to acquire.

Will this be needed for every test?

No, this is only required whenever a new tailored audience has been requested.

Will this be needed for repeat testing?

If a repeat test is running within three months, this would not be needed. However, any longer may require another investigation, depending on the previous results.

What happens if you cannot find the exact audience through the investigation?

We will provide you with a range of options based on the screened audience profiles; however, if none of these suit you, then we will not proceed with the test or specific cohort (if there is a specific cohort that will prove extremely challenging to source!).
