What is this permission?
An example of this is when you get a phone call: It displays over your other apps as a priority.
In our case, we need you to let the Go Testify Contribute app appear over the game you're testing so that both can function simultaneously - one playing while the other is recording.
Note: Depending on your device, this permission may also be called 'Appear on top'
How can we fix it and take part in a playtest?
Find the 'Display over other apps' or 'Appear on Top' permission page in the Settings on your device.
Find the app that requires permission and select it.
On the next screen, allow 'Display over other apps' or' Appear on Top'
A message will pop up that says 'App was denied access' - don't worry, this is expected!
Next, find the game app in your 'Settings' and tap on it to be taken to the App Info screen. When there, tap the 3-dot menu icon in the top right corner and select 'Allow restricted settings'.
Final steps! Return to the 'Display over other apps' or 'Appear on Top' permission page and select the app.
On the next screen, enable the permission.
Troubleshooting
[a] If you can't see that option on your device, or the steps didn't work for you above,
First, make sure the app/game has been closed down completely.
Go to Settings > Apps > Special app access > Display over other apps. Select the specific app from the list and toggle the permission on.
[b] If that still doesn't allow you to enable the setting, go to the Display over other apps screen (See below) > tap the three dots in the top right-hand corner > Choose Allow restricted settings to turn it on.
Double-check the app again to make sure it's enabled, then launch the app/game again to take part.
