Within the Go Testify platform, you can serve different types of post-session surveys to participants.
With either approach, you can choose to have a survey presented to a participant:
On a single session of your choice
Across multiple sessions
Across all sessions
Need help constructing questions & surveys?
Take the time to digest our Survey 101 guide or support article, which will educate you on how to write effective questions that deliver comprehensive feedback.
Using Go Testify's Survey In-Built Capabilities Effectively
Below are some common tips for using our platform survey capabilities.
Go to the 'Surveys' section, then choose
Title: Why give a survey a title?
To help organise and review surveys on or off the platform.
Keep in mind
This name/title is not displayed to the participant.
Having a descriptive name will make it easier to re-order the surveys across sessions.
Go Testify Templates
You can use one of our ready-made templates to help speed up the creation of a survey.
Select 'Add Survey', then on the right, select 'Use Template'
You'll then be presented with a list of available templates to choose from
Keep in mind
Templates pre-populate/override the current survey and are editable by you afterwards.
The General Survey Template comprises 15 common questions that help gauge a post's reaction to the title.
Best Practice Top & Tail Post Survey comprises 4 common questions that are typically asked by most game studios at the start & end of the survey; however, we recommend that you tailor the middle section of the survey to ensure you get comprehensive feedback.
Follow-Up Questions
Used when you need to understand why someone has chosen a certain selection. To add a follow-up question, select the related branching icon.
Then, add your follow-up question to the correct response below your answers.
Keep in mind
You can only add one follow-up question for each response.
You can't ask a further follow-up question to the new one created.
REMINDER: Extended sessions after launch
If you extend sessions to allow people to submit more feedback and also want people to keep submitting surveys, you'll need to edit each survey individually and assign it to the extra session(s).
Once a test is live, you can only edit surveys or survey questions that have not received a response.
Using 3rd-Party Surveys Effectively
If our capabilities don't meet your needs or you prefer to use a particular survey platform, you can choose to add an external link to one or more sessions via the Go Testify platform.
Go to the 'Surveys' section, then choose
Select 'Add Survey', insert your web link, and decide which sessions it should appear
As with any survey, participants will access 3rd party surveys via our Contribute recorder at the end of their session, and you can add multiple surveys to one session if applicable
Keep in Mind
We recommend adding a first name and surname initial to every 3rd Party survey form to help you cross-reference participants with footage captured via Go Testify.
External survey data is not displayed on Go Testify.

Using Triggered Surveys Effectively
Although you can set up surveys across multiple sessions, there may be times when you want to serve a survey to a participant after a certain experience.
When creating a survey for the first time, you can change any survey to be triggered by switching to this option
Keep in mind
Once you save a survey using the 'particular sessions' option, you can't switch to a triggered survey later.
Below are the current conditions you can use to trigger a survey within Go Testify:
Question (Condition: Yes)
This survey is displayed to participants within Contribute (The Go Testify Recorder) at the end of every session until someone has stated 'Yes'.
Why might you use a Triggered Survey?
To understand how someone feels on a deeper level after experiencing a critical feature within the game, e.g. Did you engage with the Chaos PVP mode today?
To serve a final survey, which is unique when someone completes the full game earlier than expected. e.g. Did you complete the game today?
Keep in Mind
The question prompt will appear after any surveys currently assigned to a session.
Participants will ONLY have the ability to answer this survey once.
Participants may never say 'Yes' if they don't understand the context of the question, so make sure it's easy for someone to respond correctly.
